Roundtable on Budget 2026: Navigating Ekonomi MADANI Amid Reform and Global Uncertainties
ASLI, in partnership with Higher Education Malaysia Association (HEYA), co-hosted a roundtable titled “Budget 2026: Navigating Ekonomi MADANI Through Reform Turbulence and Global Uncertainties” on 2 August 2025 at Sunway University.
This roundtable brought together representatives from think tanks, government, academia, civil society, and industry to critically reflect on the direction of Malaysia’s fiscal planning and the evolving economic landscape.
Discussions explored the effectiveness of existing MADANI initiatives, feedback mechanisms between policymakers and society, and constructive recommendations for Budget 2026 — with attention to tax reform, cash transfer systems, healthcare financing, and international trade disruptions.
