Malaysia Voices at BRICS: Summit’s Role in Opening Global Markets

As Malaysia chairs ASEAN for the first time, leaders from across sectors are voicing optimism about the opportunities ahead at the BRICS Summit.

Danial Rahman, CEO of ASLI, emphasized that shared priorities like inclusivity and sustainability between Malaysia and Brazil (this year’s BRICS chair) set the stage for meaningful collaboration. He also highlighted Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s opportunity to spotlight ASEAN’s central role in promoting peace and regional security.

Malaysian entrepreneur Daniel David echoed this optimism, noting that BRICS cooperation could unlock new global opportunities for startups—especially in green energy, smart cities, digital finance, and health tech. Through stronger ties, Malaysian innovators could gain access to funding, resources, and larger markets.

The BRICS Summit, held in Rio, signals a new chapter in Malaysia’s global engagement.
