The Asia Economic Summit has been organised regularly by ASLI over the years to bring together Government, Business, Academic and Thought Leaders to discuss the key economic challenges facing Asia and the issues and opportunities to be addressed. Over the years, the Asia Economic Summits have been held in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong and Shenzen, China. ASLI recognises that in order to ensure Asia’s continuing stable growth and a key engine of global growth, it is necessary to strengthen the basis for sustainable growth and enhance domestic demand whilst at the same time having an Asia that is globally connected to the rest of the world. The Asian business community will play a key role in creating prosperity and enhancing regional business cooperation.

For Asia to achieve sustainable growth, it also needs to deepen and strengthen regional economic cooperation and integration, address energy and environmental concerns, promote infrastructure development and human resource development.
