The 20th Malaysian Education Summit

The 20th MALAYSIAN EDUCATION SUMMIT 2016

EDUCATION : CREATING VALUE, BUILDING SOCIETIES

The world, new technologies, and the way we think and live have revolutionised education. When focuses change, priorities shift, and the pace, place and time of learning contribute toward a ‘new curriculum’ for Education.

National policies and pedagogy of teaching will continue to become more blended, and the key challenges for policy makers and shapers of the Education community will be working towards meeting the emerging reality of the connected environment. Should Education be serving the need for qualification or cognitive skills for problem solving to operate within complex and changing environments?

Markets today require fewer but more skilled workers. Our country needs to develop, but the external economic environment is tougher and uncertainties are mounting. The question that we should be asking today is whether we are taking into account the social development that one is experiencing, as well as how we enhance learning, and construct and circulate knowledge in an ever digitalising world.

This annual conference will again bring together a range of academics, practitioners, shapers, investors and policy makers to discuss directions and discovery in Education.

As with other ASLI conferences, this year’s Education Summit will afford the opportunity for renewing old acquaintances, making new contacts and networking across education and beyond. The Summit will discuss the key issues and challenges facing education reforms in Malaysia, and explore opportunities for private sector participation in education.
